Candle Safety, Product Use Disclaimer & Liability Notice

Candles are open-flame consumer products and must be used responsibly. Improper use may result in fire, property damage, burns, serious injury, or death.
By purchasing, possessing, lighting, gifting, displaying, or otherwise using any candle product sold or distributed by DŪFLAMBÉ, the purchaser and all subsequent users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to follow the safety guidance, warnings, limitations, and legal provisions described in this document.
If you do not agree with these safety conditions and limitations of liability, do not purchase or use the product.
Retroactive Applicability
This policy applies retroactively and prospectively to all candle products sold, distributed, gifted, delivered, or otherwise provided by DŪFLAMBÉ from the inception of the business on November 11, 2022, through the present date and into the future.
This policy applies to all products previously sold, currently sold, and sold in the future regardless of product design, vessel type, size, materials, wick configuration, fragrance composition, decorative elements, or manufacturing format.
Regulatory Safety Alignment
DŪFLAMBÉ candle products are developed and labeled with reference to generally recognized candle safety standards and regulatory guidance including but not limited to:
• ASTM F2417 – Standard Specification for Fire Safety for Candles
• ASTM F2601 – Standard Specification for Candle Fire Safety Labeling
• ASTM F2058 – Standard Specification for Candle Accessories for Fire Safety
• Consumer Product Safety Act (15 U.S.C. §2051 et seq.)
• U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidance
• National Candle Association (NCA) fire safety recommendations
Compliance with these standards does not eliminate risk. Safe operation ultimately depends on consumer behavior and supervision.
Scope of Products Covered
This policy applies to all candle products manufactured, sold, distributed, or otherwise provided by DŪFLAMBÉ, including but not limited to:
• Luxury candle décor
• Statement centerpiece candles
• Multi-wick vessels
• Oversized decorative candle bowls
• Botanical wax candles
• Sculptural wax candles
• Wax art candles
• Decorative vessel candles
• Dough bowl candles
• Glass, ceramic, metal, wood, stone, or composite vessel candles
• Limited edition releases
• Custom candle vessels
• Decorative wax arrangements
• Artistic wax sculptures
• Any candle product format introduced in the future
Open Flame Risk Disclosure
Candles contain combustible wax fuel and an exposed flame.
Improper use may result in:
• Fire hazards
• Burn injuries
• Smoke damage
• Surface damage
• Property destruction
• Serious bodily injury or death
Users assume all risks associated with open-flame candle use.
General Candle Safety
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.
• Always burn candles within sight.
• Keep candles away from children and pets.
• Never allow children to light candles.
• Keep candles away from materials that may catch fire including curtains, paper, fabrics, décor, and furniture.
Placement and Clearance
• Maintain at least 12 inches of clearance above and around candles.
• Never burn candles beneath cabinets, shelves, or hanging decorations.
• Burn candles only on stable, flat, heat-resistant surfaces.
• Use protective trays when burning on delicate furniture.
Multiple Candle Spacing
Maintain at least 3 inches between burning candles.
First Burn Guidance
Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the vessel during the first burn when possible.
This may take approximately 2–4 hours depending on candle size.
General Burn Duration Guidelines
• Do not burn candles longer than 3–4 hours per session.
• Large multi-wick centerpiece vessels should generally be burned no longer than 3 hours per session unless closely supervised.
• Allow candles to cool before relighting.
Wax Level Safety Limit
Stop burning candles when approximately ½ inch of wax remains in the vessel.
Wick Maintenance
• Trim wicks to approximately ¼ inch before each burn.
• Remove carbon buildup (“mushrooming”) before relighting.
• If flame height exceeds approximately 1 inch, extinguish the candle and trim the wick.
Draft and Airflow Safety
Avoid burning candles near:
• Windows
• Fans
• HVAC vents
• Air conditioning units
• Strong air currents
Wax Contamination Warning
Keep wax free from debris including:
• Wick trimmings
• Matches
• Dust
• Foreign materials
Safe Extinguishing
• Use a candle snuffer when possible.
• Avoid blowing forcefully which may splatter molten wax.
• Never extinguish candles with water.
Vessel Heat Warning
Candle vessels may become extremely hot during burning.
Allow vessels to cool completely before touching or moving.
Thermal Shock Warning
Sudden temperature changes may cause vessel cracking.
• Do not place hot vessels on cold surfaces.
• Do not expose vessels to water.
Vessel Structural Integrity Disclaimer
Container materials may react differently to heat, environmental conditions, or burn duration. DŪFLAMBÉ does not guarantee that any vessel will remain structurally intact under all conditions.
Large Centerpiece Candle Safety
Large multi-wick decorative vessels produce greater heat output than standard candles and must be closely monitored during use.
Decorative Element Warning
Decorative wax elements such as:
• Flowers
• Botanicals
• Sculptures
• Wax pearls
may melt or shift during burning.
Performance Variability
Burn performance and fragrance intensity may vary due to:
• Environmental conditions
• Airflow
• Fragrance composition
• Wick behavior
• Burn practices
Intended Use
Candles are designed for decorative ambiance and fragrance purposes only.
They are not intended for heating, cooking, or emergency lighting.
Handcrafted Variation
DŪFLAMBÉ candles are handcrafted products.
Natural variations may occur in:
• Color
• Texture
• Fragrance strength
• Decorative design
Assumption of Risk
By purchasing or using DŪFLAMBÉ candles, the purchaser voluntarily assumes all risks associated with open-flame candle use.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DŪFLAMBÉ shall not be liable for damages, injuries, or losses arising from candle use or misuse.
Indemnification
Purchasers agree to indemnify and hold harmless DŪFLAMBÉ and its owners from claims or legal actions arising from candle use or misuse.
Severability
If any portion of this policy is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
Right to Update Policy
DŪFLAMBÉ reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time.

Final Safety Notice
Candles are open-flame products capable of causing fire, property damage, serious injury, or death.
Always burn candles responsibly and monitor them at all times.
